Farm to Table Workshops:

This 12 week workshop series takes an innovative approach to addressing food insecurity through gardening.

Royally Fit Community Advocating Officer and Owner, Aquene Watkins-Wise planting tomatoes

At each weekly workshop, community members learn how to care for various edible plants, the nutritional value of each plant and how to cook a healthy meal based on that week’s featured plant. Creating the opportunity for workshop participants to take home their own edible plant at the end of each workshop, Royally Fit is removing the barriers to healthy food access.

This workshop is possible thanks to partnership with The Soil Sisters Plant Nursery & Feed the Hood.

Food Forest Initiative:

Access to healthy food shouldn’t be an issue of equity, but it is!

Royally Fit, in partnership with The Soil Sisters, has begun identifying spaces around The City of Pittsburgh where edible crops can be planted in order to develop food forests!

The goal of this initiative is to not only beautify our neighborhoods but also to mitigate food insecurity by allowing food to grow through our communities and be accessed for free by its residents.

But we need your help!
